Program Operations Volunteer Roles
St. Mark's is run almost entirely by volunteers! This also includes the behind-the-scenes work to run the day-to-day. Do you have a special skill that you'd like to share in a meaningful way with St. Mark's? Helping St. Mark's expand their classes and reach more students is a great way to give back and have a rewarding experience.
Website Content and Development
Help St. Mark's add timely content to the website, increase traffic, and enhance functionality in order to benefit our students, volunteers and the organization. Experience with building out websites preferred, but not required.
Social Media
Assist with curating content to enhance and develop St. Mark's social media presence, with the goal of attracting more students, donors, and supporters.
Citizenship Program Assistance
Support the Program Coordinator with recruiting volunteers, making curriculum updates, and helping to develop the overall program. This may also include serving as co-host for a class or small group lead.
Zoom Host
Run technology components and manage all aspects of online classes. This includes creating and monitoring breakout rooms, admitting students from waiting rooms, and troubleshooting technical issues. The Zoom host also takes attendance for the class.
Class Cohost
Provide overall class program support and serve as lead-point for classes. This includes providing weekly communications and handouts to students and volunteers, serving as a timer for teachers, keeping class agendas going smoothly, and troubleshooting any issues to ensure a great student experience.
Student Coordinator
Oversee registrations and answer questions from students. Provide Zoom information to help students acclimate to on-line classes. Confirm upcoming test dates and help to arrange 1-1 tutoring.
